About this event

Theatre
During a cruise, Debbie and Peter, a very ‘British’ couple, meet the larger-than-life American widow Elsa Jean Krakowski and exchange details - out of politeness. Months later, Elsa announces she is coming to stay, and the couple feel unable to refuse. However, a quick online search reveals some alarming rumours about their guest. Too polite to confront her, Peter and Debbie endure her chaotic presence as she disrupts their home and unsettles their two children. Their anxiety is heightened by a boundary‑obsessed neighbour and the well‑meaning but ineffectual PC Junkin. As suspicions grow, the couple’s desperate attempts to remain courteous collide with their guest’s dark secret. The play becomes a sharply dark comic farce about British manners, fear, and the absurdity of avoiding offence at all costs. This production contains infrequent strong language.
