About this event
Join Sunshine For The Soul at Thornton Little Theatre for a relaxing Drum & Healing Circle, combining rhythm, connection and wellbeing. No experience is needed and all levels are welcome. Bring your own frame drum or reserve one to hire when booking.
Come as you are, pick up a drum and experience the uplifting power of rhythm, sound and connection.
My Drum & Healing Circles are relaxed, welcoming gatherings combining frame drumming, simple rhythms, chanting and singing with gentle sound healing and grounding practices.
Together we’ll create rhythm, release tension, lift our energy and experience the wonderful feeling of making music as a group. There’s no pressure to perform and you don’t need to consider yourself musical — absolutely no drumming experience is needed. Everything is gently guided and all levels are welcome.
Why drumming feels so good 🥁
There’s science behind it too. Research into group drumming and rhythmic music-making suggests that it may help to reduce stress and anxiety, support mood and emotional wellbeing, and encourage feelings of social connection and belonging.
Research has also explored the fascinating relationship between group drumming, the body’s stress response and immune function, with studies reporting changes in biological markers associated with stress and immune activity.
The repetitive nature of rhythm can be wonderfully absorbing too, helping to quieten a busy mind and bring our attention back into the present moment.
There is something very special about a room full of people finding a shared rhythm — many individual heartbeats, one collective beat.
Come to drum, connect, unwind and leave feeling a little lighter.
